Abyssal Purge
Abyssal purges are those who have dedicated their lives to destroying as many demons as possible. By restricting them from contacting any other planes, reducing their auras and learning every one of their weaknesses, the abyssal purge is left only with a normal mortal enemy. With all other powers gone and nowhere to escape, a demon would have to fight to his end.
The most famous of all abyssal purges were the elf Relhial “Whitefire” Leamwends. She fought for many hundred years against the black legions when they invaded her homestead, Firal. At that time the trade of the abyssal hunter was taught away by special guilds in the big cities. After getting accepted for extremely good fighting skills at an early age she quickly learned the trade. After many hundred long years of warfare the black legions were driven back. By that time Relhial had become a high ranked commander. During the conquest of one of the last bastions the black legions held a portal was discovered. From there she and a little troop of abyssal purges went into the portal to seal it for good. The portal was destroyed, but no one returned.
“Nowhere to run, no way to cheat. Having to fight fair will be your biggest punishment”
(Relhial, hero of the black legion wars).
------------
Adventurers: Hunting demons isn’t a popular task and it is most often taken out of need. Demons often raid on other planes, causing a lot of damage and corruption. The abyssal purge is the answer to these raids. Their purpose is to keep demons and their kin away from the mortal planes, but ultimately they could also return the raids by going into the abyss and destroying as many demons as possible.
Characteristics: Abyssal purges are specialized fighters against the forces of the abyss. Their supernatural powers enable them to reduce any demon from a supernatural beast with a heap of special powers, to a common, evil, mortal enemy.
Alignment: Their battles against fiends often gives them a new look at the world. The abyssal purge has similar virtues to a paladin though they don’t need to follow them strictly. Therefore most abyssal purges are good. In-between the sides of law and chaos there seem to be no favorite. Although most are good, some still adhere to neutrality. Even a few evil ones have become abyssal purges for their own plans of abyssal conquest.
Religion: Heroinus is an all time favorite of the abyssal purges as he backs up most of what they stand for. Other follow Moradin, Corellon Larethian or Yondalla as a part of the fact that they try to protect their own.
Background: Abyssal purges tend to be very religious and often have a belief in fate. Which is often why they choose to start adventuring. They usually grow up in religious/highly idealistic families or has a religious/highly idealistic education.
Races: All races become abyssal purges if needed. Though it is mostly elves, gnomes and humans who decide to become one.
Other Classes: Paladins and abyssal purges often go very well together as they often share the common virtues and goals. Good clerics, fighters and rangers are often well accepted. They usually have a neutral attitude towards other classes.
Abilities: Dexterity is the most important ability of an abyssal purge. Most of them use their agility in fight, but strength can alternatively be equally important for some. Wisdom is also important as it is the main ability for casting the psionic powers.

See Skills Overview and further of the SRD for skill descriptions.
Skill Points at Each Level: 4 + INT modifier.
Class Features
All of the following are class features of the abyssal purge prestige class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Proficient with all simple and martial weapons. Proficient with light and medium armors and all shields except tower shield.
Powers: Abyssal purges manifest all powers with wisdom as main ability. The power holy smite is as the spell. An abyssal purge that manifests the power aura sight is able to distinguish demons from other evil auras already at the first round after manifesting. This includes the aura of a demon in a possessed person.
Power Points: Abyssal purges gain power points as shown in the table above. The power points are added to any previous power points. An abyssal purge gains no bonus power points.
Powers Discovered: The abyssal purge gains powers as shown in the table above. The abyssal purge can gain other powers outside their power list, but he cannot learn them naturally. He has to find the power stored in a power stone or learn it from someone else. Any special powers learned like this have a power level of normal +1. Thus if an abyssal purge learns a second level power from the psion list, he would learn it as a third level power.
Skills: The abyssal purge gains the skill speak language as class skill for the purpose of learning abyssal.
Abyssal Lockdown (Sp): At first level the abyssal purge gains the ability to restrict outsiders who are native to the abyssal plane, from interacting with any other plane, once per day. This lockdown restricts demons from using their summoning abilities. It also restricts them from doing any planar traveling. In fact the abyssal lockdown disrupts the whole magick/psionic flow of demons, making it harder for the to cast spells and manifest powrs. All spells cast or powers manifested by a demon within the range, has a 5%+5%/2 lev as abyssal purge, chance of failing. This ability affects an area of 60ft+5ft/level as abyssal purge, around the caster. It lasts 1 minute/2 lev as abyssal purge. At second level and every two levels thereafter the abyssal purge gains the ability to cast abyssal lockdown an additional time per day. Casting the abyssal lockdown is a full round action, but it provokes no attack of opportunity from abyssal natives. Since all demons are subject to the powers that flow from the Abyss, all save DC required to negate their spell like or psionic abilities are reduced by 1/3 lev as abyssal purge. The effect of multiple lockdowns does not stack.
Favored Enemy (Demons) (Ex): At first level the abyssal purge has the knowledge about demons to count them as a favored enemy as described under ranger in the Players Handbook. This ability also goes for all other natives of the abyssal planes.
Abyssal Aura Puncture (Su): At fifth level the abyssal purge gains the ability to bane through the damage reduction of demons. First time around the weapon counts as a cold iron weapon towards all demons and natives to the abyssal plane, but only for the purpose of breaking through the damage reduction. At eight level the weapon now also counts as a good weapon. This as well is solely usable on demons and natives to the abyssal plane and only for the purpose of breaking through the damage reduction.
Smite Evil (Su): At third level the abyssal purge gains the ability to use the ability smite evil like a paladin, once pr day.
Demon Bane (Ex): At tenth level the abyssal purge has reached a point where his tactics towards demons and psionic skills allow him to hit with outmost accuracy. The abyssal purge can at any time do a full round attack which automatically counts as a threat. This attack requires the release of a psionic focus.
